Introducing Whole Home Licensing™

 

With the release of System Mechanic 10, iolo technologies has introduced a new Whole Home Licensing™ policy. System Mechanic users were previously allowed to install and license System Mechanic simultaneously on a maximum of three PCs. Under the new Whole Home Licensing policy, if your customers use System Mechanic exclusively on their home PCs and not for business purposes they may use the same System Mechanic license on all the PCs they own.

  • Your customer, their spouse, and their relatives living within the same household may use the same license on any number of PCs that they own which are not used for business.

  • If they want to use the software on any PCs that are also used for business purposes [even if those PCs are located in their home], iolo’s Business Volume Pricing and Licensing applies.

  • Currently, Whole Home Licensing applies only to the System Mechanic 10 [or later] family of products, yet will likely be expanded to all iolo consumer products at a later date.

Read on for helpful information and frequently asked questions about how your customers can install System Mechanic on every PC in their home—making it more affordable than ever to keep all of their household PCs tuned and in top condition.

 

I have System Mechanic installed on one of my computers. How can I install it on a second (or third, or fourth) PC?

  • First, make sure that all of your PCs meet the basic system requirements to run System Mechanic. [Check system requirements here].

  • Using any PC that does not already have System Mechanic installed, open up a web browser and go to http://sm.iolo.com to download and install System Mechanic.

  • Step through the instructions to download and install the program. [Click here for more guidance on the installation process].

  • Repeat steps 1-3 on every PC in your home.

I had System Mechanic installed on one of my computers, but I wiped the hard drive and no longer have my installation CD. How can I re-install System Mechanic on my PC?

  • You can re-install System Mechanic on a fresh drive by following the steps in the answer given above, and using your original Activation Key.

Can I use the same Activation Key to install System Mechanic on more than one computer?

  • Yes. When you are prompted for an Activation Key during the installation process, you can use the same Activation Key to install System Mechanic on every PC in your household.

What if I've lost or misplaced my Activation Key?

  • If you have a copy of System Mechanic already installed on one of your home PCs, launch the program and click on the Help dropdown menu in the top right hand corner.

  • Select About System Mechanic. A small pop-up screen will appear with your Activation Key displayed on it.

"I saw some very noticeable improvements after running System Mechanic. For instance, boot-up took 1 minute, 57 seconds before I ran System Mechanic, and only 58 seconds after. A restart was 2 minutes, 19 seconds before, and 1 minute 40 seconds after. Time to load a graphics–intensive Web site like CNET was 3.8 seconds before and 2.1 seconds after. Firefox launched in 9 seconds before and 6 seconds after.

The software also enabled the laptop to more efficiently use its CPU while displaying video. As with AVG PC Tuneup 2011, the overall system performance was incredibly fast and snappy—windows and menus opened in a blink."
